Welcome to the North West Branch
Branch Aims
The North West Branch seeks to represent its members and the wider healthcare community by offering support and providing high quality, independent and objective advice. It aims to promote best practice and innovation in financial management and leadership across the health economy through its local and national networks. The Branch will look to help the Association to develop policies and exert influence in shaping the wider healthcare agenda. The local business plan takes into account the minimum specification for the four key strands published in the consultation document “Moving Forwards Together”.
The Branch has identified four key aims:
Increasing influence – The Branch wants to engage with the NW SHA and more Directors of Finance. The Branch intends to work with the national Agenda by feeding intelligence and feedback to the National Policy Teams. It will continue to raise the profile of the HfMA in the NW by ensuring this is an agenda item on FD’s communication meetings and continue to encourage FDs to speak at local seminars and Conferences.
Meeting training and development needs – The Branch aims to cover every aspect of the traditional training cycle. A key deliverable for the Branch is to provide free seminars to all local branch members where possible. To provide CPD certificates for attendees at seminars and to put in place an accreditation process for attendance. It will continue to share good practice with the Centre and other branches.
Supporting members and providing better services – The Branch will look to increase membership by an additional 65 over the next 12 months. This will require promotion of the HfMA and the Branch through the conference, seminars, student conference, HfMA website and the FSD organisation. It also intends working closely with the FMTs Graduates and including them in branch activities. The Branch will look at under-represented organisations with regards to membership and attendance at seminars/conference and target these organisations to take part in NW branch activities. Communication with current members will be a major key in driving the branch forward.
Building the commercial infrastructure – The Branch is to develop a sponsorship prospectus in order to increase corporate sponsorship locally and nationally and to allow input into the branch from outside the NHS but contribute regularily to the healthcare economy.
