Sue Lorimer

I joined the NHS in 1985 and have held board level positions since 1990 in a variety of provider trusts. I am currently Director of Finance and Commissioning at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust based in Liverpool. I am CIMA qualified and in the past has been a member of the NHS project group of CIMA. For many years I was a member of the FOCUS steering group, an organisation that plans and organises training curricula and events for NHS Finance departments in the North West.

Why I wanted to be an HFMA Trustee?

I have been a member of the HFMA since its inception and wholeheartedly support its aims. I joined the Board of Trustees of HFMA in January 2008. Being a trustee has given me a much wider insight into the issues facing members across the whole of the UK and I am particularly interested in ensuring the central functions of the HFMA support the work being done at branch level.
